Well, Harry is doing fine today. He may have been just having a hairball, not to mention that it's dry in my apartment due to the heat being on. He's going to the vet soon anyway - when I go to (*snif!*) pick up Little Girl's ashes I will make an appointment.

Still no word from CBG, and I don't have the interest in pursuing him, to be perfectly honest. In time, I'm sure we'll talk. Not right now! I'm laying low, getting to bed early most nights, and just trying to get used to the place without LG around. I'm still looking for her when I come home! I expect her to come out of the bedroom or jump down from the couch. No dice! :-(

I'm a little surprised at how little CBG comes to mind lately. It all seems like a weird interlude. The only thing that bothers me about it is that YET AGAIN, I will be single on Valentine's Day. Meh, I'll be on a business trip anyway. I'll be in Steamboat Springs, CO - hey, I should stay a couple days and take a ski lesson or something, no? Never know who's going to be on the slopes...

Valentine's Day is a Hallmark holiday, worse than Christmas in terms of being ALL about the marketing - I wouldn't get that worked up about it. If it means that much to you, though, tell me which hotel you'll be in and I'll have some chocolates sent over! :)

Pixie is glad to hear Harry is feeling better. I know, because she just blew her nose on my jeans.

Awww, how touching! Cat sneezes are generally too cute to be gross.

Yes, I know V.D. is not that big a deal really, and I can certainly buy myself flowers and candy whenever I want to, but it's such a depressing statistic to not have a sweetie on the day, ever!

I haven't issued the heave-ho yet, but it is inevitable. Interesting, too, that 3 months seems to be about where everything has always stopped, if I was involved with anyone. I guess that's about how long it takes to see some people let their hair down...

I am truly sorry to hear about LG. I was a complete mess the year that first Sebastian and then Gemma died.

One thing I learned is that you can not force a new cat. The first time I went around to shelters I was completely unsuccessful. I am sure they were worthy cats, but they were not S or G. Later I sat down and made a list of cat criteria (not male, not black, short hair). I swear that a mere two hours later the hospital exterminator brought me a male long haired black kitten that had got caught in one of his traps. The kitten goddesses will have their way despite our mere human wishes.

Thanks for the well-wishes! It's kind of appalling that the loss of a pet is not recognized as "real grief," but I have to say that Comic Book Guy (and a few others) aside, I've been extraordinarily lucky to know people who are mostly in tune with knowing the importance of pets!

I fully expect that the cat gods WILL have their way with me and that when the time comes, I will not be able to resist their whims. No one can!

Right now my coworker who just moved into the complex is feeding and giving affection to two strays who live in the neighborhood, a gray one she calls Smokey and a three-legged one we decided was called Tripod - she's an avowed cat-hater, but she's softening...

Hey, I just happen to know a pretty fantastic bachelor who lives in Steamboat and could benefit from a Valentine's date...

I know this sounds perfectly crazy but I'm kinda serious. He's in this flickr set...(which one is he?!)

Intrigued? If you feel like throwin' caution to the wind, shoot me an email. He would freak OUT if I set him up on V-Day!

ps. Fun blog & sorry about that catty.

Oh NO you didn't! First of all, I love Design Boner - the concept and the site. A friend and I send each other design-related things to die for but you guys really find some great stuff!

Nora is a beautiful girl.

I love the randomness of someone just seeing my blog and happening to know someone single in the very town where I'll be on Valentine's Day! In a way, how can I say no?

Did I ever tell people I have a Flickr page too? Well, if you didn't know it, you can look at my very random and amateurish efforts at http://flickr.com/photos/bibliofilly/.

Hi! Sorry! I had some of my own cat trauma this weekend and wasn't able to check your blog for a response.

Yay! Thanks for DB praise (we love it, both DB & praise).

Also thank you BIG TIME for not being offended by my zany virtual cupid meddlings. So...is that a "YES...please call your friend in Steamboat and tell him that I'll be the one coming off the plane with a rose?" No, haha, that's too much.

But I am sending him the link to this post because, as of right now, he knows nothing of his fate. We'll just have to see what happens!

My dear friend Cardboard.. what would I do without you..

Hey Bibliofilly! You'll have fun in Steamboat, over 30 feet of snow this winter, still coming down today! And this town is 6 to 1 guys to girls, so you are in the right place to meet a fella! But if you want to skip a few steps, I might could be up for grabbin a drink or 2, or 7. :)
