Black beans extraordinaire

Soak 1 lb dried black beans overnight. Change water, then bring to a boil. While this is reaching a boil, saute 1 yellow onion, diced, 1 T minced garlic, and 1 chopped sweet red pepper until softened and onion is translucent. Toss in 1 to 2 cups finely diced chorizo or similar sausage and continue to saute. Add 1 T chile powder (or more to taste), 1 T ground cumin, handful finely chopped fresh cilantro, 1 t salt, and 1 cup plain tomato sauce. Simmer 20 minutes. Add to the beans and simmer on low heat an hour or so. Serve with rice.
